This book is for anyone and everyone who want to imagine and live into the interdependent, love filled and thriving futures we yearn for.
About the Project
In 2020 Shawna Wakefield, Rufaro Gwarada, and Kristen Zimmerman launched Root. Rise. Pollinate! We began by gathering women and gender expansive change-makers across cultures, geographies and generations to tell the stories of the future, the big transitions we need to make, and how these transitions are unfolding now. Reports from a (r)Evolution of Being is a culmination of this work and an offering to like-hearted “pollinators” around the world.
Over the next six years we organized virtual labs, embodied storytelling sessions, and events to gather change-makers from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and the United States, and practice what it means to:
Root in well-tended, purposeful minds, bodies and spirits,
Rise in beloved community and collective power, even in the context of conflict, and
Pollinate our visions of a transformed world, by strategically bringing them to life.
An Anthology and Guide for these Times
The change-makers we met are incredibly inspiring! In their communities they are creating a world that not only counters, but moves us beyond, the global multi-system collapse we’re living through. Through practice they are creating alternative pathways to the fearful reactivity that reproduces the human created circumstances we find ourselves in today.
We knew it was important to gather and share their experience and wisdom.
This (r)Evolution of Being – how we evolve to thrive into the future - in relationship to our ancestors, our descendants, the current generation, and our more than human kin - is the focus of this new anthology and guide.
What’s Inside?
The anthology is a treasure trove of stories, artwork, poems, prayers, practices interviews and quotes from created by thse "inspirators.” It is organized around four emerging elements of a (r)evolution of being:
Healing land, water and ancestral relations
Sharing responsibility for belonging, mutual aid and momentum towards thriving
Alchemizing joy, imagination and creativity
Stewarding this (r)Evolution of Being
Each section includes a ritual, a future story co-created during collective speculative storytelling sessions, reports from Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East, practices to support embodiment of the elements of a (r)Evolution of Being along with related artwork and quotes.
